Carved to draw sunlight into the body of the stone until the material itself begins to glow, the works in this collection render light petrified — the spiritual and the physical meeting in the luminous core of the rock, where a spark long held within the material is finally revealed.
Gravity.
Composed in the constant negotiation between precarity and stability, the works in this collection let weight, fracture, and the patient pull of mass shape the form alongside the hand, embracing inherent fissures as the very places where light is permitted to enter.
Deep Time.
Worked from stones whose ages stretch across millions of years, the pieces in this collection hold past, present, and future in a single solid form, joining the human hand to a lineage of carved marks that reaches back to the earliest tools and the first symbols our ancestors set into rock.
